Our JIS Standard TiCN Spiral Flute Taps are engineered for high-speed automated tapping in blind holes. The 35° right-hand helix acts as a "chip elevator," pulling long, stringy chips upward and out of the hole to prevent clogging—the #1 cause of tap breakage.
With a TiCN (Titanium Carbo-Nitride) coating, these taps reach a surface hardness of 3,000 HV, offering significantly better wear resistance than standard TiN when machining abrasive materials like cast iron or high-tensile stainless steel.

As a factory-direct supplier, we understand that selecting the wrong standard can lead to vibration or tool-holder damage. Below is a comparison of common sizes to highlight the critical dimensional differences between Japanese (JIS) and German (DIN) standards.
Key Dimensional Differences (Unit: mm)
| Thread Size | JIS Shank (ds) | DIN 371 Shank (ds) | JIS Total Length | DIN 371 Total Length |
| M3 | 4.0 | 3.5 | 46 | 56 |
| M4 | 5.0 | 4.5 | 52 | 63 |
| M5 | 5.5 | 6.0 | 60 | 70 |
| M6 | 6.0 | 6.0 | 62 | 80 |
| M8 | 6.2 | 8.0 | 70 | 90 |
| M10 | 7.0 | 10.0 | 75 | 100 |
Professional Note from our Engineers: > * JIS taps are generally shorter and more rigid, ideal for the high-speed, compact spindles found on Japanese CNC machines (Fanuc, Brother, Mazak).
Shank Diameter: Notice that for M3/M4, JIS shanks are thicker than DIN, whereas for M8/M10, JIS shanks are significantly thinner. Using a DIN collet for a JIS tap without checking these dimensions will result in a loose fit or tool runout.
Substrate Performance: Available in HSS-E M35 (5% Cobalt) for heat resistance or HSSE-PM (Powder Metallurgy) for 24/7 high-volume production with zero micro-chipping.
TiCN Coating: Provides a low friction coefficient (0.4) and extreme hardness, perfect for Stainless Steel (304/316), Alloy Steels, and Ductile Iron.
CNC Optimization: Designed for high-feed rates on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
OEM Customization: Since 1997, we provide high-definition Laser Marking (Logo + Size + Material + JIS) for global B2B brands.
Secure Logistics: Every tap is vacuum-sealed in shockproof Rose-Box plastic tubes with anti-rust oil for a 36-month shelf life.

Q: Can I use your JIS taps on my European machine?
A: Yes, provided you use a JIS-standard collet. The tap will perform excellently, but because the shank and square dimensions differ from DIN, the clamping system must match the JIS specification.
Q: Why choose TiCN over TiN for JIS taps?
A: TiCN is 30% harder and handles abrasive materials much better. For Japanese automotive parts often made of tough alloys, TiCN provides a significantly lower "cost-per-hole."
