Our ISO 529 TiN Coated Spiral Point Machine Taps (also known as "Gun Taps") are engineered for high-efficiency through-hole threading according to international standards. By combining a premium HSS-M2 substrate with a Titanium Nitride (TiN) PVD coating, these taps offer a surface hardness of approximately 2300 HV.

The specialized Spiral Point geometry at the cutting face is designed to continuously push chips forward and out through the bottom of the hole. This prevents chip clogging, reduces torque, and allows for significantly higher cutting speeds in automated production environments.

Q: Can I use this TiN-coated tap for Blind Holes?


A:No. Spiral point taps must only be used for through-holes. For blind holes, please see our ISO 529 Spiral Flute series.


Q: Is the ISO 529 shank compatible with DIN holders?


A: Often not. ISO 529 uses different shank diameters and square sizes than the German DIN standard. Always check your tool holder specifications to ensure a proper fit.
