Our ISO 529 HSS-M2 Taps are engineered to meet the globally recognized International Organization for Standardization (ISO) requirements. These "Short Machine Taps" are designed with a specific length-to-diameter ratio that provides maximum rigidity during manual or machine-assisted tapping.
Forged from premium HSS-M2 (AISI M2), these straight-flute taps are highly versatile. They can be used as a single machine tap for through-holes or as part of a hand-tapping sequence. The Bright Finish ensures a sharp, clean cutting edge, making them the reliable choice for general engineering across various industrial sectors.

High-Speed Steel (M2): We use genuine HSS-M2 (AISI M2) to provide the perfect balance of hardness (HRC 63-65) and toughness, ensuring the tap resists chipping even under inconsistent manual pressure.
Fully Ground Construction: Unlike cheaper "rolled" taps, our ISO 529 series is Fully Ground from solid hardened blanks. This ensures superior thread surface finish and a strict 6H Tolerance Class.
Bright Finish: The polished bright finish reduces friction and prevents built-up edges when tapping mild steels, brass, aluminum, and plastics.
General Engineering & Maintenance: The versatile straight-flute design is suitable for both hand-held tap wrenches and pillar drills.
Through-Hole & Blind Hole: While ideal for through-holes, the straight flute allows for safe blind-hole tapping when used with proper lubrication and chip clearance.
Materials: Optimized for non-alloy and low-alloy steels, copper, brass, and aluminum alloys with tensile strengths up to 800 N/mm².
Shockproof Retail Tubes: Each tap is vacuum-sealed and housed in a durable Rose-Box plastic tube, ensuring the cutting edges remain factory-sharp.
Corrosion Protection: Treated with industrial-grade anti-rust oil for a 36-month shelf life, protecting your inventory during sea freight to any global port.
OEM Customization: Since 1997, we have provided High-Definition Laser Marking (Logo + Size + HSS + ISO 529) for international distributors.
Q: Is ISO 529 the same as DIN 371/376?
A: No. ISO 529 taps are generally shorter in overall length and have different shank and square dimensions compared to the DIN standard. You must ensure your tool holder is compatible with ISO shank sizes.
Q: Can I use these taps in a CNC machine?
A: Yes. Because these are HSS-M2 Fully Ground taps, they are capable of machine speeds. However, for high-volume automated through-hole tapping, we recommend our Spiral Point (Gun Tap) series.
Q: What is the benefit of the "Bright Finish" for ISO taps?
A: The bright finish provides the sharpest possible cutting edge. This is particularly beneficial for softer materials like brass or aluminum, where a coating might slightly round the cutting edge and cause "tearing" of the threads.
