One of the most annoying and dangerous parts of core drilling is the "slug" (the center metal piece) getting stuck inside the cutter. Operators often try to knock it out with a hammer, which can chip the teeth or cause the cutter to fly off. On high-altitude job sites, a stuck slug is a major productivity killer and a safety risk.

During drilling, the slug heats up and expands. Without a proper ejection mechanism or a high-precision internal taper, the slug seizes against the inner walls of the cutter. If the pilot pin isn't working correctly, there is no force to "fire" the slug out once the cut is complete.
Safety is built into the DNA of our cutters. We’ve engineered an Internal Taper System that gets wider toward the shank. Combined with our high-strength Pilot Pins, the system creates a spring-loaded "ejection" force. The moment you break through the plate, the slug is instantly and safely discharged, leaving the tool ready for the next hole.

Safety Feature: Internal Taper for Slug Release
Shank Stability: Dual-Flat Weldon Design
Vibration Level: <2.5 m/s²
Ejection Force: Optimized Spring Tension (with Pilot Pin)
Material: Shock-Resistant HSS-M2
Standards: CE / Industrial Grade
These are essential for wind turbine maintenance, high-rise steel framing, and outdoor repair work. When you are 50 meters in the air, you need a tool that works safely and automatically without requiring you to fight with a stuck piece of metal.

Always pair these cutters with our Genuine Pilot Pins. The pin is the heart of the safety system; it centers the tool and triggers the ejection. For vertical or overhead drilling, this safety series is non-negotiable.
Q: Does the slug always fly out?
A: Yes, as long as the pilot pin is engaged and the internal taper is kept clean with lubricant.
Q: How do I prevent the drill from slipping?
A: Our dual-flat Weldon shank provides a massive surface area for the set-screws, ensuring a rock-solid connection.
Q: Is it safer for the operator?
A: Yes, the smooth cutting action reduces "kickback," making the magnetic drill much more stable.
